WPSyncer Posted January 29, 2015 Report Share Posted January 29, 2015 Hi, I cannot seem to identify any way to change the 'Device Name' my Windows Phone in BTSYNC. I've given my sync devices friendly names, however the Windows Phone stands out with its RM-xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx name. GreatMarko Posted January 29, 2015 Report Share Posted January 29, 2015 It's the same on all devices, not just Windows Phones - you can only change the device name once, after which it becomes fixed and cannot be changed again (short of uninstalling/reinstalling the application). This is because the Device Name, once set, forms part of the Certificate Fingerprint for Sync on that device. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It might be worth while putting somewhere on the Device Details page on the app a note to that effect. Assumed the device name wasn't used to generate the cert fingerprint.
