mpvader
Hi, I want to make one read-only link, and give it out to many people: all our customers. The idea behind is that they need quite often to use firmware files and others out in the field, and by using bittorrent Sync they'll always have all files available, without being able to accidentally (or on purpose) change them. First we used sync 1.4, and all worked reasonably well. Now that seems to have stopped working (the read only share link that we gave out since many many months already stopped working): the, mostly 2.0, clients are stuck with 'The sender needs to approve access to this folder based on these identity details:'. And to fix that, and get rid of the 1.4 icon, I tried making a new folder, 2.0 version, and created a Read only link. The simplest one: no approval necessary, no expiration and no max use time. First of all, sorry to see that the KEYS are no longer visible. I used them as a safe and simple way to store somewhere, offline, and always be able to get write access to the folder back again. And then the bad news is that also this link worked for one customer, but didnt for the next. He sent me a screenshot that shows 'Pending approval'. Please help me to get this fixed! best, MV Edited June 15, 2015 by mpvader
mpvader
Hi, seems to have solved it self this morning. So the good news is that the 2.0 read only share link is reusable by many people, which is what I was looking for. Next we need to host bittorrent sync on a server somehwere instead of on my laptop. This to make sure that approval process works always, instead of only when I am online. MV
Helen
mpvader, In Sync 2.0 only classic folders have keys. You can add classic folder by holding Shift when clicking "add folder" button. This will create and share the old-fashioned 1.4 style folder.
