nivedl
I am trying to install Sync on a computer running Windows 7. When I try to open Sync I get the message, "Sync does not support your browser. For your security, please use a current version of Chrome or Firefox." I am not sure why this is. Chrome is up to date. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome. Any help would be appreciated.
GreatMarko
You're seeing this message because you only have Internet Explorer 8 installed. The latest version of IE available for Windows 7 is IE11. Updating to IE11 will prevent this message from appearing and allow you to use Sync's native HTML interface in Windows. Alternatively, as the message indicates, you can use an alternative browser (such as Chrome or Firefox) and run Sync in Web UI mode instead. nivedl
No, both Explorer and Chrome are up to date and I still see this message. Any other ideas?
Helen
nivedl, in Control Panel\Programs\Turn Windows features on or Off - is IE 11 enabled or disabled?

nivedl
I deleted settings.dat and settings.dat.old and it did not change the problem. Anything else...
GreatMarko
@nivedl, do you have any browser extensions/addons enabled which could be interfering with the display of Sync's UI in your browser? (i.e. what happens if you disable your browser extensions/addons?)
Helen
Make sure That reg key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.css\Content Type" contains "text/css" Also, open IE, press ALT key to bring up the menu and go to Tools > Developer Tools ( or press F12 on keyboard instead). At the bottom window see Console:1) To the right see Emulation mode (icon with desktop screen and mobile screen). Set it to Edge (or at least higher than 9). 2) Little left to it, in 'Emulation' section set "Document mode" and "User agent string" to Edge (Default) (or at least higher than 9 also). And finally - did you install/uninstall any updates on IE?
