Sync 'owner' Machine No Longer Exists - How To Get Ownership Back

Hi there

Problem we have is that the machine we created the sync folders on has crashed and is no longer available. all sync foulders are working between remaining machines but we cannot add additional machines as none of the current sync machines is the owner of the folders.

How do we change ownership when the owner is “dead"

Unfortunately, Sync's security model is designed to prevent exactly what you want to do in this case. If you didn't have the identity linked with (a.k.a. backed up on) any other device, and you can't recover the Sync instance on that device, your cannot recover ownership of the folder. You will have to create a new folder and share it anew.
