Btsync On New Synology Rt1900Ac

Recommended Posts

Hi everbody.

I'm already using BTsync on my Synology DS211j.

Now I've ordered the new Router of Synology, which comes with NAS functionality.

I was wondering, if BTsync could be installed on it. There is no package (yet) ...

It uses a Broadcom BCM58622 dual core 1,0 GHz.

Regards

Kay

Kay,

Even without a package Sync is capable to run on numerous amount of platforms. You'll have to deploy Sync manually there. Also note, that Sync never complains about resources, though if you've got a lots of files (or peers) you can overload your router.

as Roman mentioned - there is no package for the router, but you can try and launch Sync there manually. If I get it right, it's arm-based? so arm-build Sync has all the chances to work there, but sorry, this device is not explicitly supported and not tested in the lab.

@kornac This is kind of by design. The router has a specific architecture "northstarplus" which is not officially supported. Router's OS won't allow you to install some other's architecture package.
Googling around reveals Cortex A9 ARM CPU, which gives a hint that delivering and running armhf build is likely going to do the trick.
