tuant
Let say we have 2 machines running btsync, syncing an encrypted folder. One machine (source) has the unencrypted read/write version. The other (backup) has only the encrypted version of the folder. We regularly do back up of btsync data folder on the backup machine, including the encrypted folder. Now for some reasons, both source and backup have failed. How can we restore the data from the encrypted folder (we still have the keys - for rw, ro, encrypted)? I tried to copy the encrypted folder to btsync data folder on another machine, but it doesn't work. Needless to day, the data is highly valuable to us. Any help will be appreciated. Helen
it was already answered, here in your case - if both source peer loses its files, and encrypted backup peer fails and folder gets removed from Sync, there is no way to decrypt files. tuant
Thanks for the information. That's a very, very bad news indeed.
