kircos
Getting the message "Failed to connect to relay server", what do I do/check. Searching this in the help file does not return any information.
RomanZ
@kircos it indicates that there are some connectivity issues to Resilio servers from your peer. Though, Relay is just an assistance for your Sync if it fails to establish a direct connection. So, this warning may not have any additional consequences for you. Helen
a few notes from me: Are your peers connected to each other? If yes, then this is an obsolete UI stuck message and you can uncheck "use relay server" in share preferences. Of course, unless your peers actually need relay to connect to each other. If no, then you might what to check ports 3000 and 3001 being open in all firewalls, NATs, this peer is behind.
brozada
I've also this problem and I'm behind a restrictive firewall. I can ask to open some ports for oubound connections, Is there specific IPs for the relays to include only that addresses and ports?
Helen
yes, you can learn these from here
Innomen
How, specifically, do I disable use of the relay?
Helen
in share preferences in Sync, uncheck "use relay" in power use setting in Sync - > set "no" to "folder_defaults.use_relay"
Innomen
Thanks but even after this disable I'm still being told failed to connect. How do I get rid of that error message without establishing a connection?
Helen
Did you disable it for all shares? restarted Sync after that?
Innomen
Ahhh so I need to disable it for each individual share. I thought doing it from settings would do it app-wide. Will try that, thanks Edited February 10, 2017 by Innomen New data.
