PacketMan Posted May 22, 2018 Report Share Posted May 22, 2018 Hi there, well I see the old BTSYNC was finally removed from the FreeBSD ports tree. So I was intending to install the new version, and decided to hop on to the web site and do some reading first. I get the impression there are no free versions of Resilio Sync available anymore. Is that correct? if not can someone point me to the URL of the free to use product page? BTW I am totally cool with paying for a product, after all people gotta make a living right. My only concern is that I use FreeBSD OS, and I know who have already been burned by buying a product only for the vendor to say yeah we are pulling support for FreeBSD. There are many other currently free competing products I could try, but I don't want to. Also, if/when I install the new product can I reuse my old existing configuration and keys, or must I (or should I) start from scratch. No issue there either, just don't want to if I don't have to. EDIT: The Sync Home page seems to suggest there is a free version available, but another page suggest "Free to try for 14 days", or is that only for business use? nothsa Posted May 23, 2018 Report Share Posted May 23, 2018 "Sync Home" is free for personal use: https://www.resilio.com/platforms/desktop/ "Sync Home Pro" and "Sync Family Pro" are the same app, but with the Pro features unlocked ("Home" has a Pro license for 1 user, "Family" has a Pro license for 5 users), for personal use. "Sync for Business" is the same app, but the license allows commercial use. And I respect that. All that is available is a red "Free Download" button, but that does not mean its free to use indefinitely.
