Can I share the same external drive with two computers?

Recommended Posts

I have an external drive that I plug into one computer, work on its files, and then move the external drive to another computer in order to keep working from there. And then I go back to the first computer and so on.

I'd like the contents of that hard drive to be shared with a third peer no matter which computer of those two I have the external drive connected to.

Would the two Sync clients on my computers cope well with such a scenario?

Curious about this if you ever received an answer. I am working on my desktop computer with our files for a project on an external drive. I am hoping to continue working on my laptop while traveling and wondering If I could just ad my laptop as a peer and use the same drive if they both have the same path
