needabettername
Hi Trying to resinstall latest version on win10.1909 after resilio lost all syncs. To uninstall I've: Done a normal windows remove programs Deleted %appdata%/Resilio* Manually deleted the service with sc.exe delete rslsyncsvc through powershell with elevated rights Run ccleaner which picked up some resgistry keys but maybe I'm missing some? When Trying to install resilio I choose the 'add as system service' option and, at the point I'd expect it to add in username and password I just get a "Failed to install Resilion Sync Service" dialogue box. Though the btsyncsvc_ log in %LocalTemp it seems to install ok, and a services is installed only without any username platform: Windows workstation 10.0 amd64 version: 2.6.4.1344 [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Registering Resilio Sync Service [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Path: C:\ProgramData\Resilio Sync Service\Resilio Sync.exe [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Autostart: true [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Username: [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Command line: [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Get user token: false [2020-03-09 12:19:38.455] Service name: rslsyncsvc [2020-03-09 12:19:38.508] Resilio Sync Service is registered successfully I can't then start the service even if I change it to be under the correct user account, or local account in services.msc - Shows error 5 Accesss is denied. Eventvwr shows a Event ID 7000 Error -The Resilio Sync Service service failed to start due to the following error: Access is denied. Disabling windows defender doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there somewhere I can download previous versions to rule that out please. Can't seem to find them. Many thanks in advance for any help you can give. Andy+
Same as here https://forum.resilio.com/topic/71783-sync-service-wont-start/ I dont know the solution, maybe a compatible mode or admin mode is running.
needabettername
Thanks for coming back to me. Feels slightly different but I'll bow to you knowledge on that one. I can confirm it's just happening on that machine, rather than other similar windows builds I'll keep on playing and see if I can work it out, until I get bored and just reinstall windows
needabettername
Just in case it helps anyone Creating a new user account didn't make a difference. Neither did confirming Login as service for the account under group policy.
