TeBa1
I installed the latest Resilio package on DSM 7, and want to backup my mobile photos to the Synology 'photo' shared folder ... but have permission trouble. I am aware of adding the internal user rslsync to the 'photo' folder as per but the Resilio UI is still unable to create any new folders in that shared folder ('You do not have permission to create a folder in this directory') Next, I tried to change the Resilio user from rslsync to my current user as per https://help.resilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/206178924-Installing-Sync-package-on-Linux but there is no file /usr/lib/systemd/user/resilio-sync.service so I am stuck there as well. Any advice on how to be able to backup to the 'photo' folder is appreciated. Thanks, -- Terrence
TeBa1
bump ... I'm hoping someone has some light they can shed on this. At this point, resilio seems pretty limited if I cannot run it as a different user. Thanks, -- Terrence
sabgigo
The Photos folder on my Synology is located within my user home folder (using File Station, navigate to "homes > "user_name" > Photos". To obtain permission for Resilio Sync to access this folder, give rslsync permission to the "homes" folder, and this will allow the Photos folder to inherit permission, and allow it to be set up for syncing using the "+" control button.
