eseelke
Does anyone know how I can disable the webui authentication? I hate that this is being forced on me. But, before I switch back to Syncthing, I thought I would check here and see if anyone knows how I can disable this.
Helen
on Linux/Windows - simply don't fill in the password and proceed. Your webUI won't be protected. on a NAS you can't skip it.
eseelke
I tried that before posting. It gave me an error that password fields cannot be blank. This is a docker install.
eltopo
Just get a good password manager (like BitWarden) and let it auto fill for you.
eseelke
I do use BitWarden. Unfortunately, it does not work with the type of authentication Resilio Sync uses. That still doesn't answer why I am being forced to use authentication anyways when I am on a secure network and don't need it.
Helen
yes, in dockers, where sync is installed on a kind of different file system, password is also required, like on a NAS.
eseelke
Ok, thanks. I guess I will stick with Syncthing for now. Any chance this thread can be updated if this is ever fixed?
