install on Synology 213+?

Recommended Posts

My Synology 213+ has a Freescale QorlQ P1022 PPC CPU. I copy the PPC SyncApp to my NAS, gunzip it, and then do

# ./SyncApp_powerpc

but it returns "Illegal instruction." The file's permissions are 755, and I'm logged in as the root user. What am I doing wrong?

We build binaries optimized for latest PPC chips, it seems your PPC doesn't have some of the latest commands. We will see if we could build more general PPC build, that could be used on earlier chips.

Hi,

as far as i remember, QORIQ uses e6500 PPC Core. And it's possible that some instructions are no more supported (compared to e500 cores).

It just an hypothesis.

Hello,

Just tried with my brand new synology 213+. With SyncApp_powerpc-1.0.75 I receive "Illegal Instruction (core dumped)" error message. (Files permission 755 and logged as root).

Is it possible to receive the "custom build" for my model ? (I thought the bug was corrected in 1.0.75)

Thanks in advance.

At least Freescale QorIQ P1022 PPC for DS413 uses PPC e500v2

Could you please PM me, we might found a solution but want to test it first. Thanks!

Kos13, I would like to be a beta tester :).

I'll send PM you.
