I run a sync from my NAS to my desktop, syncing My Documents, which works fine, I then try and do the same to my laptop, and I get an error "Don't have permissions to write to selected folder". I am the Administrator, I tried running it under as Administrator and it still fails.
The permissions seem the same on bot the desktop and laptop, so I don't understand the problem.

I have Resilio sync running on my desktop, laptop and my NAS. I want to sync My Documents between all three devices. Is it better to set up a sync job on my desktop to sync with the NAS and another on the laptop to sync with the same folder on the NAS or set up jobs on the NAS to sync with the desktop and laptop. What I'm trying to understand is if there is a best configuration for keeping these 3 devices synch'd. Also, is it best to use real time synch or schedule it?
Secondly, let's say I have the three devices synched, the laptop is at a different location and I delete a file from My Documents. Will it be immediately recovered when I next attach it to my network, or will the deleted file be removed from the other two devices?

OK, my config is I have a home pc, a laptop and a NAS drive, all on the same network. If I work on a file on my PC, I want it to be synch'd on bot the NAS (always on) and the laptop the next time it is turned on.
I need things to be two-way sync as I might create files on my laptop when away from my home and want all synch'd when I next connect.
But what happens if say I delete a file from my home PC but the laptop is not online. I would hope the file will be deleted from the NAS as this is on, but if the laptop is turned on, won't it look like a file exists on it that should be copied to the NAS and PC ? Otherwise, who keeps control of what is waiting to be deleted from the laptop? -
Normal, should I try as a service?

All I want to do is sync my Documents folder with a copy on my Nas. When I choose a folder on my laptop is says Don't have permission to write to selected folder. I am the administrator and I can write to the documents folder so what does this mean?

I have the latest version of Resilio on all machines.
WHich user are you talking about? When I configure Resilio, it asks for a user name but that is not a windows user. I have the same user name (windows and Resilio) on all three devices. SHould they be different and should they be windows users?

I want to achieve the following, I have a desktop and a laptop and a Netgear ReadyNas device. I want to sync the My Documents across the laptop and desktop via the Nas i.e. from the desktop to the Nas then from the nas to the laptop and vice versa.
I have the latest versions of Resilio sync on all devices.
What folder do I add on the Nas as the intermediate folder?
When I try an add the My Documents on either the desktop or laptop I get a message saying you don't have permission to write to this folder.
I'm not sure I understand the setup really.
I want to go via the Nas because that is always on whereas the desktop or laptop may not necessarily be powered on together.

OK, I reset the password, but still cannot add the users my documents to Resilio, saying "Don't have permissions to write to selected folder" However, I am the only user and I can read, write and modify the folder!

I thought I'd try removing Resilio completely, then re-install etc on the PC. I typed in a username then selected start resilio as a service. After the install, the web browser started up and I typed in the user name and password and it wouldn't accept it, it just kept asking for the user name and password again.
I really don't know what is going wrong.

On my PC. I cannot add the My documents to Resilio Sync.

I am sorry for the delay, have been working away from home.
I can open, read and write to My documents with the user I am logged on as. I open Resilio Sync and try to add a folder (My Documents) and it says "Don't have permission to write to selected folder".
Is this something to do with the user Resilio Sync defaults to when it is installed i.e. the Name that will be used.....?

Sorry I'm a little confused. I have a PC, a laptop and a Readynas, all running Resilio sync. I want to sync the My documents folders on the PC and Laptop via the NAS. Where do I add which folder ? I don't want to share the My documents folder as that created an additional copy of it on the pc and laptop.
This is all across a LAN as I have a limited internet connection.

So the Readynas app has nothing to do with the syncing? It's just an mapped drive.

OK, I think I messed up, when I opened the app from my Netgear, I was confused by it being in the root directory. I then opened the local Resilio sync at 127.0.0.1 on both my pc and laptop thereby creating a copy of each others My Documents.
I now have opened the app and found the NAS copy of My documents, and I want to sync this so that if I make changes on my pc, they are reflected on my laptop and visa versa.
How do I achieve this?

I want to sync my "My Documents" folder via my NAS between 2 PCs so they stay in sync even if one is offline as the NAS is always online. However, all I have managed so far is to get 2 copies of My Documents on each PC .
I'm using a ReadyNas with the Resilio sync app.

Sorry, yes it's a Windows 10 system, I'm the administrator, an I can read and write to the My Documents folder.
Wen you say the Resilio user, I'm not sure I understand. Does it need a special user set up in Windows?
