Sync two (2) identical Linux servers with large ZFS arrays a few thousand miles apart

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have two (2) identical Linux servers with large (~150 TB) ZFS arrays a few thousand miles apart.

We've kept them somewhat sync'd when they were much closer together with NFS4, but the TCP RTT and resulting bandwidth-delay product (BDP)

effectively makes the effective bandwidth go way down. I would like to know if Resilio can help? It would be sync'g the top level directory of the array?

What is written to 1 server is written to the other server over the WAN. There's ~300GBytes daily sent unidirectionally from 1 server to the other.

It would be done over a WAN. Is Resilio UDP or TCP based? Also in the event of a WAN disconnect, how does Resilio handle this?

Thanks in advance - Paul
