IP and mac issues

Recommended Posts

Can't grasp the question fully... So definitely, when you are online all peers can see your IP, and they might see your MAC if you are on same network segment with them: same WiFi network, same lan etc. When you close your app, tracker just stops sharing your IP, so you would be invisible for anyone who connects to the share. When you start it again (if tracker server is enabled in share preferences) tracker will publish your IP so anyone can connect to it.

In case you don't have real IP and are only using gray IP like 192.168.*.*, 10.*.*.* or 172.29.*.* tracker I guess will actually show relay server IP, not yours. But that doesn't mean you can't be located, as instead of relay server your client can be reached through NAT or UPnP, so your gateway IP might be visible.
