  1. Err... fudge my bad.  I had not been keeping up on this and I thought (at one time) I signed up for a notification of when it would be released (maybe a am wrong there too).  Anyway Thanks!

Err... Fudge again.  Upon closer review (actually just not enough coffee), I now remember I would like to see an app for Windows Phone 7...

  2. I have been thinking about a better (simpler)  workaround for this.   I propose that BTSync be started as a task at system startup.  This has already been mentioned and is what I am doing now.  Then setup another task that would close BTSync at login, hopefully allowing BTSync to re-open after login allowing the use of the GUI. And then maybe another to switch it back after logout.  I would think there might have to be a couple delays in there, but it sure would simple things up until it is released as a Service.  Any thoughts?  I am not sure what would need to be done to make this work.  Just throwing out an idea.

  3. Still like to see a mobile app for windows phones.

Also to be able to have sync run as a service with a gui. (I am currently running it as a task on a couple computers)

    Nested shares

Be able to organize lists (such as paths under the folder tab) in ascending or descending order.

Be able to right click on a folder in explorer to add it or remove it from the sync list.

I am sure I will think up something else (probably someone else has it listed already.

  4. I just wanted to check and see if there has been any progress on getting BTSync to run as a service along with having a gui...  Right now I start a remote location with task manager when the computer automatically turns on.  Problem is, I have to stop the process through task manager and then relaunch BTSync to be able to make any changes or check the status of the up/downloads.  I have been hearing that running as a service is coming,  anyone might know when?

  5. Well, right now it starts as a task without being logged in. And when I login, it re-indexes and syncs all over again, but at lease the files have already transferred.

If I uncheck the start with Windows option, I do not see BTSync at all and have to opening it manually to see what is going on. Sometimes I get the error, sometimes not... Oh also any timeframe on BTSync as a service?

  6. After reading through this I am a bit confused. What is the best way to run Sync at startup? I have one computer that auto starts and I would like it to sync without having anyone logged into it. Currently I have it as a scheduled task, but I also have the start when Windows starts option checked as well. If the task is already running and it is called again, does that not just call up the GUI or am I inviting problems with a double start?

  7. I am having problems too. Lots of !sync and syncpart files showing up at odd times. Also an getting a fair amount of files that start with a ~$ such as ~$ilname.xxx Not 100% repeatable. I also have one computer that wants to completely re-index at every startup. Another issue is that the history tab says computers have synced but the devices tab indicates something is still working.

This causes me some time to go through each computer remotely and clean them up at the end of the day.

I am running 1.1.127 on all six machines. I even uninstalled/reinstalled on three.

It is a fantastic program, just please either help me trouble shoot or maybe debug.

    Thanks

  8. I have run into an issue. If one node creates a new file, saves it, but keeps the file open, BTSync sees it and syncs just the name with a ~$ prefix on the filename. The file size is only 1k. Apparently when the file is closed, it will transfer completely.

The issue is that if another node gets to the ~$filename stage and then shuts down or stops syncing, the next time that node syncs up I am ending up wit the ~$filename file of $1k and the filename of the entire file (say 200k).

Is this normal or is something afoot?

  9. I have a lot of items I would like to see, a lot have already been mentioned. But two come to mind. One, if BTSync could work without having the user account logged in would be a nice feature. That way you could sync and leave the unattended computer some what from prying eyes. Two, and this one should be easy, allow sorting of the columns on each tab. So you could sort the Devices tab by either Device, Folder, or Status (ascending or descending).
