Dust

im trying to make it just happen as seamlessly as possible (have her put files in a directory and i back them up). i can easily explain just wait a couple minutes/hours depending, she can handle that. i still need the syncing mechanism though. but i have thought about that exact setup. this is exactly what i am talking about, just on her laptop/desktop.

hey guys. i like the idea of using secure transfers of data, mainly to backup all the pictures my family has onto my storage, or maybe to my web host, if they allow it. but i have another scenario that i would like to ask about. is there a way that i can share a directory with somebody, but instead of copying all the files, allow them to selectively pull down some files(pics directory is 40+GB right now)? say for instance, i tell my mom that i have a folder of pictures from my vacation, i could potentially (forget how much she knows about computers for a second ) tell her what folder to copy down. instead of creating another separate share within the larger share... i have been looking for a service that does this for a while, and would prefer it to be decentralized like BitTorrent
