  1. I'm testing BT Sync in a mixed Macbook / Windows desktop environment as a possible replacement for Dropbox: - After folders are shared and sync is in progress: How do you tell which folders are sync'ing as read-only / read-write after the fact? (both from the subscriber side and the publisher side) - Why does the count of bytes to be transferred (total) for a given folder differ from what the OS reports is in that folder? Is this because of files being skipped? If so, how do I determine which files / folders are being skipped/not transferred? Scrolling thru the list of all transferred in the GUI is clearly not workable, so I'm assuming that is NOT the answer, right? - My devices show this status (for several days now). The top device is my machine (macbook pro), the bottom is a peer's machine (windows 7). Does this mean that the transfer is hung for some reason? If so, how do I determine what is wrong?
  2. From the BitTorrent team: There is no icon on OSX if your devices connected directly. There will be a small cloud icon indicates that you are connected through relay server on OSX only. Thanks!
  3. I did this same experiment and was hoping for the same results - deleted files would reappear. In my test the deleted files did not reappear even if deleted and re-added on the server. Does this mean that the client remembers files that were deleted and prevents syncing them? I'm guessing this is not the case. More likely the server chose not to resend it for some reason. Just speculating. Would like to understand this better.
  4. One of the guys on my team installed it on Win7 this morning and he see the two-way arrows on a sync that we are doing between my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.8.5) and his Win7 box. I still don't any icon on my side. Perhaps the OSX version doesn't show them? Not sure.
  5. I ran across this question elsewhere (using google search I think), but it didn't seem to get answered. I downloaded BitTorrent Sync 1.1.82 for OSX this evening and tested it using two macbook pros connected to the same router/modem, first with wireless connections and then with wireless turned off and using ethernet cables. Transfers worked great, but the device icons that the docs say should be there (arrows / cloud) were absent. I see the device names and no icons. This is the case on both machines. Is this a known bug? Thanks, -Gerald
