Glad to hear! You also might want to create "debug.txt" in storage folder and put "00000000" there to prevent Sync from writing logs, which also might wake up your NAS HDD.
Is there anything else that might make the NAS HDD wake up? I'm noticing that the NAS stays awake for 10's of minutes and then goes to sleep for ~ a minute then repeats. I put the debug.txt file in the usr/bittorentsync/var folder with the 00000000, stopped and restarted btsync but it hasn't changed the sleep/wake situation.

The fix is in development at the moment. Please expect it soon.
I just wanted to report back that after manually installing 2.0.93 in my DS214Play the NAS does go into sleep/hibernation with the rescan and config set at 36000.

Please try to set the "folder_restan_interval" and "config_refresh_interval" to some bigger value (both are in seconds) and see if it helps.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I changed the rescan value by a factor of 10 to 36000 and it made no difference. Stays awake all the time. Interesting though that the config_refresh parameter wasn't existent. I tried adding after the first adjustment and it still didn't make any difference at the same value of 36000.
I hope this doesn't come off as entitled or snarky, it's not meant to be. But, I'm curious why is this always stated to be fixed in each release but it's not? Are you guys not able to replicate this issue? Seems like it's been going on for a long time for anyone that has a synology. If you need a beta tester or if there are instructions on how to become a beta tester for subsequent builds I'd sign up for it.

I see that you've mailed to our support - please follow instructions in order to resolve issue.
I've shutoff BTSync on all machines that use BTSync to sync files to my Synology 214Play and the Syno never sleeps with BTSync running on the Syno.
I held off using 1.3.xxx because the report was that 1.4 fixed the issue. That doesn't appear to be the case, is there a resolution to this type of issue?

I started from scratch and copied the entire folder structure over to the NAS before sharing. The speeds are fast now varying from 155kB to 690kB up. But the transfers are constant and iterating over the entire folder structure and files like they are constantly changing. Is there an issue with the Synology and BitTorrent? This doesn't seem as straight forward as the manual/faq suggests. Been a week trying to get this working, frustrating.

It can improve the initial sync speed.
What settings do you have enabled on the share (both sides)?
I've been thinking more about this. While it may improve initial sync times my use case would be going on the road and shooting 10GB or more of photo and video. Coming home and dumping that onto the drive attached to my iMac and letting it sync with the NAS. If this is purposely throttled that way maybe this isn't the solution I thought it was?

Thanks for what appears to be a great tool. I'm new to BTSync so I may have misunderstood some of it's capabilities and uses so I'm posting for clarification.
My use case - I have 2 Apple computers, 2 iOS devices, and a NAS (DS214Play) that I would like to sync some information between. My first test was to sync my photos which are attached to my iMac via an external FireWire disk.
I have BTSync 1.3.106 installed on my NAS and iMac computer. I setup some .SyncIgnore rules on both machines so that they match exactly.
# .SyncIgnore is a UTF-8 encoded .txt file that helps you specify single files,$# for ignoring during the synchronization job. It supports "?" and "*" wildcard$### OS generated files #.DS_Store.DS_Store?._*.Spotlight-V100.Trashesehthumbs.dbdesktop.iniThumbs.db_Archived?Items#recycle@eaDirOther than that I'm using stock settings. I pair them up correctly and the sync begins fine. Here's part of my problems:
1 - The sync speeds are EXTREMELY slow 0.3kBs up and 0.4kBs down. At this rate it would take a week to sync the folders. Is this a known issue, or do I need to adjust my settings maybe?
2 - I have gone through this process two times. The first time the sync seemed to stall halfway through the process, not sure if my machine went to sleep or what happened, but only half the photos were in the directory structure on the NAS. It doesn't seem to matter if I kill and restart the BTSync on the iMac, it doesn't attempt to copy over the files that are missing on the NAS.
My understanding was, as long as they are both set to Full Access, that they would mirror each other. I assumed that the first sync was a mirror from the iMac to the NAS in this case.
Has anyone been having this issue or am I missing something?

Thanks Roman, I think this is related to a TimeMachine backup or Cloud Station that is running. When the Laptop that the time machine backup is attached to is sleeping the Syno seems to behave exactly as I would expect so I'm fairly confident that the BTSync is doing what it should. I should have done more checking before posting, sorry about that.. Thanks for the link.
