[Up to date information about ports and protocols?]

Is the information on the page What Ports And Protocols Are Used By Sync? accurate?  

The reasons I'm asking:

1.  I believe I've seen connections to ports that are not specified on that page, nor do they appear in the sync.conf

2.  I couldn't find details about how secure the mechanism relying on the remote sync.conf is (e.g.  a) can a MITM trick the client into getting a different sync.con?  b) can re remote machine get a copy of the files if they trick the client into using a rogue sync.con?)

[What Is The Correct Way To Sync 2 Folders?]

I've just upgraded to 2.0 and I'm having a bit of a trouble figuring out how to set 2 folders on my 2 machines to sync. I'm not using the Pro version.

 

What I have tried was:

 

1. add the new folder to BTSync on one of my machines

2. checked the other machine and the folder was already synching as a subfolder 

3. panicked

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

While going through the advanced preference options I've noticed the `send_statistics` option which is by default set to true.

 

Can anyone explain what this setting is for? I have searched the forum and couldn't find anything.

1. If this question was coming from the BT guys before the 2.0 release, I would have probably said $40-50 (I actually don't need any of the Pro features).

 

2. Today, I doubt I'd pay $20.
