Mweelrea
Brilliant application, syncs locally if no Internet, over wifi or if two different local wifis. Also if Internet avalaible on a VPN.Does anyone know the order or rules that the app uses to decide what to do that ? Mweelrea
GreatMarko
Sync will always try to establish direct connections between your devices wherever possible (i.e. they are on the same LAN, or VPN). Where direct connections cannot be established, Sync will fall back to relayed connections (which will be slower)
Mweelrea
Thanks for your answer.Tell me, if I have a VPN set up on one PC does that only allow ALL information transfers including BitTorrent transactions to be piped through that VPN, or does the protocol used with BitTorrent do it another way that bypasses that VPN?The VPN is Witopta, they say everything goes through it! they don't have application dependent routing ?..Mweelrea
GreatMarko
The VPN is Witopta, they say everything goes through it! they don't have application dependent routing ?..Whilst I'm not familiar with that particular VPN, if they say that "everything goes through" you should be alright! The way you can tell if your devices are connected directly or via a relay is to look at the device icons - please see "What do the device icons mean?" in the Unofficial FAQ
