Linux Connected Files

Just thought to post the same thing here. I'm going to copy from the original post and also link that discussion here.

"I have a Linux laptop with an SSD that I'd like to be in connected mode with my Windows desktop. So my desktop has all my files, but I want the Linux computer to have files synced "on-demand," just as the Windows client can.

Now the question is, when I run the Linux script, it just becomes like a webserver on my laptop. After entering the key, it only gives me the option to sync or not sync with the windows computer. Is there a way to have the connected option (ie did I miss something)?"
