chamelion
Hi there, I am already searching since days for a solution and hope I can get an answer in this forum if my idea is possible or not. I have a Fritzbox 6360 (Cable) and a hardrive Seagate 8 TB connected to it per USB. Now I try to sync my PC files and folders with the Fritzbox HD that I have a nice backup solution and always teh same files on both harddrives (PC and Fritzbox) in case one harddrive crashes I still have my data. Is that possible with Bittorent Sync and if so please can you tell me how to configure everything? I am no expert in these things so maybe you can give a Dummy instruction? Thanks, Chamelion
RomanZ
@chamelion I did not manage to find precise non-marketing specifications for Fritz!Box so here are basic Sync needs to operate on embedded devices:1. Linux or FreeBSD.2. CPU i386, x64 or ARM architecture3. GLibC 2.3 or newer4. You'll need SSH access to your box. Also note, that Sync memory consumption directly depends on amount of files, so if you get many - your box may run out of memory (calculate it approximately as 1kb per file). To install Sync, you'll need:1. SSH to your device.2. Get the binary there.3. Run it. Note, that Sync will create files and have access specific to the user that runs is. Here are a bit more information on Sync for Linux.
