Neonlinx
Hi, I have some problem (maybe I don't understand something) how to make 1-way sync working. I have a server (in France) and my home PC (Italy). I need to sync between these 2 system but I want-need that the sync works only in 1 way from Server to HomePC. I have installed the license on my server using the GUI but seems that don't work correctly. Infact under License Info it says that the owner of license is username@Home (sincerly don't know if this is correct; I think that the license needs to be linked to the server). Anyway, I try to sync some folder using advanced option and selecting read-only key. Then I copied that key in my homePC. And infact under the owner (at my home client) I see "you". Infact when I start syncing the client (at my home) starts to download but also to upload to my server. Where is the error? Please Help If I need/try to uninstall then re-install btsync (both on my server and home PC), the files already synchronized will not be re-synchronized, right? even if I change the name of folders right? it will synchronize only the files that do not exist on my PC (sincerly, don't know how btsync compares files between devices), correct? Sorry for my english, I hope I explained correctly Edit:In my server I use Linux and on my PC I use Win7. On my server I setup btsync using sync.conf file Edited January 15, 2016 by Neonlinx
iswrong
Permissions are bound to an identity. If BTSync on the home machine and server use the same identity, and you create a share on the server, the share plus its permissions are automatically propagated to the home machine (though the share may be disconnected). If you want different permissions on different machines, the machines should use different identities.
