MrNES Posted May 29, 2016 Report Share Posted May 29, 2016 Assume I store backups of my stuff with BTSync on my friends computers. No problems there.. But what happens if my computer (or NAS in this case) crashes and everything is lost. How do I reconnect to download the stuff again from my friends? What's the standard procedure here? Is the key somewhat to store all the keys I share with my friends (and make sure they don't expire after three days when I generated them?) or how do I do it? RomanZ Posted May 30, 2016 Report Share Posted May 30, 2016 @MrNES If you are using Standard or Encrypted folders to backup data to your friend's hardware, just keep the key in safe place (not the link!). If you are using Advanced folder - ensure that you have non-expiring link in safe place. To get data back you'll need to install Sync on fresh computer / OS, and add a folder using backed up key.
