dannyg86
I am trialing sync for work purposes and am curious if it uses bandwidth (that would contribute to my monthly data cap) in any way, shape or form. I need sync to only use local LAN traffic only. Is this how it works? Would love confirmation. Thank you
jammin
If you are only syncing between clients on your LAN, it would use very little if any of your internet data. However if any of your clients are external to your LAN it will sync over the internet and that will use your internet data.
iswrong
As Jammin says, if you only sync on a LAN, the bandwidth use is very limited. Assuming that you keep the normal configuration, it will do some WAN communication for contacting trackers and the DHT. You an also set upload/download bandwidth limits. If you are worried about WAN communication, you can also set up Sync to use LAN only: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/204754349-Can-I-force-Sync-to-do-local-network-LAN-syncing-only-and-not-sync-via-the-Internet-
