Thank you for the feedback!
Could you please reproduce the issue with a new folder? And then please send us logs from both devices: PC and iOS (on iOS use "Send Feedback" to send logs and read here how to send logs from PC).
Logs will help us to analyze the issue.

I found the solution to this.
When I installed btsync I said NO to allowing the app to know my location. Backup then didn't work.
After I reinstalled the app, I said YES to allow the app to know my location. Then camera roll backup worked instantly.
Oh yes, the application needs this kind of permissions to enumerate all your photos. I think Apple did this because application can get a location where any photo was taken from photo data.

Clarify that you're talking about BitTorrent Sync iOS (rather than another OS)
Please correct me if I'm wrong. You have Seagate Wireless Plus device and iPad and you'd like to play and manage files from Seagate device on your mobile device. You don't want to install BTSync on Seagate.
Looks like you don't need BitTorrent Sync for this, you only need a WebDAV iOS application.
Why do you want to use BitTorrent Sync iOS in this case?

Imnotatroll, mrmachine please reproduce the problems again and send us logs from both devices(iOS and PC).
For this on iOS device go to Settings->Send Feedback and then describe your problem. Read here how to send logs from other platforms.

no. m4b is the apple standard for audiobooks, and is natively recognized by idevices.
Yes, iTunes can play .m4b files. But to make possible to play .m4b files from other applications iTunes must register itself as .m4b viewer. It doesn't do this. But try to open .m4b file in Quick Look, may be, it can play the file.

Hvmhvm, you are a hacker
Yes, you can use btsync://[secret]?n=[any folder name] as workaround. You can type it in Safari or mail a link to your device and then open it in Mail.
But please wait for a few days: we are preparing application update.

Thank you for the feedback!
These feature is in our task list and will be managed soon! Follow our updates!

Please set default settings in folder preferences (in desktop app):
- Use relay server when required - ON
- Use tracker server - ON
- Search LAN - ON
Please send us logs from iOS device if it doesn't help.

not sure if this is really a bittorrent sync problem but when syncing audiobooks in m4b format to my iphone (4, 5.1.1) i can't open them in any application. they aren't offered in the open with list, it offers stuff like teamviewer and dropbox, even ifile but ifile can't open the files with it's audioplayer either.
same files synced through itunes open fine. ideas?
Looks like you don't have any applications that handle m4b extension on your iPhone. iTunes doesn't register itself as m4b extension handler. Try to find any application which opens and plays .m4b files in AppStore.

But please keep the one-way option.
Do you mean camera backup? Yes it is one-way and it will be one-way.

We will try to reproduce the issue in our lab.
I hope you will use our application without any issues!

If devices are in the same local network they can find each other by sending local broadcasts.
Also we have a special tracker that helps devices to be connected if they are in different networks. Also DHT can help your devices to find each other. And you can manually enter ip:port of each device and they will be connected directly.
All these settings your can configure in the folder preferences.
Unfortunately there is no such settings in iOS app now, but we will add them in future releases very soon.

Thank you frixhax for the feedback!
Could you please send us the logs from your device? For this please reproduce the issue again and then go to Settings->Send Fedback, and agree to add logs.
-
We will add the ability to enter Secret manually in the next update.
-
Yes, you can sync using the 3G network. Please go to Settings in BitTorrent Sync application and make sure that "Use Cellular Data" is on.
If it doesn't help please send us the logs. (Go to Settings->"Send Feedback" and then agree to add logs to you feedback).
There is no "predefined hosts" option in BitTorrent Sync iOS now, but we will add it in the future releases.

Using version 1.0.109, on an iPad mini, when I scan a QR code for a folder the camera screen disappears (like it has recognized the QR code) but folder is not added, also there is no other way to add (such as adding the secret key manually) so I'm unable to add sync folders
Did you press "Done" button after scanning the QR? You need to scan QR then enter name of the folder or use existing one and then press Done.
By the way, in the next version we will change this view and will make it more user friendly.
-
Would this be possible in future updates? or would implementing it bring down the wrath Apple and get the app banned form the app store.
A good question! I don't have answer on it for now. BitTorrent Sync is in AppStore and that's great, then we will see what we can do and what we can't! But we are working on improving BitTorrent Sync.
If I use this to automatically sync music files from my computer to my iPhone, is there a way to get the music files from the Sync folder on the phone to Music so I can play them? I understand it works (automatically) syncing pictures, but what about other content that is playable on an iPhone?
We can't do this because of Apple restrictions. But you can sync video and music files to iOS device and play them directly in BTSync.

When using the "Share files" feature, the received folder name for devices containing spaces gets truncated at the first space. For example: the sending device is called "Matt's iPad" and the folder structure on the receiving device would be "Received/From Matt's/" instead of "Received/From Matt's iPad/".
Yeah, that is the bug! Will fix it. Thank you for pointing us.

Unfortunately BTSync iOS doesn't have this functionality for now. We will add it in the next releases, please follow our updates.

Thank you for the feedback!
I know there's the tracker and relay options and what they control, but I wish it was just more clear for the average user what that all means. Like, wording around "If you want to only sync on your internal network, use these options"... and "if you want to...", etc. Or just more user friendly descriptions of tracker and relay, maybe. Anyway, that's minor.
We will add this in next releases. Please, follow our updates!
We are trying to reproduce your bug with .xml file, will fix it in the next versions.
I seem to have found a bug with the Camera backup. Many GB were backed up successfully, but the iOS app now reports "Uploading 7.6 MB" and "Connecting". It reports this constantly. The backup was stopped and started a few times, but always resumed correctly.
When adding a new photo to iOS, it gets synced over immediately - and then stops at "Uploading 7.6 MB". The other client (Mac OSX 1.1.69) reports "Finished Syncing with iOS device". There are no files with !.sync & I've deleted a few from the backup and I've tried restarting the iOS app.
Thanks for releasing this app - should be very useful.
This is a known issue. It's because you've deleted several files from backup folder on your PC. We are working on it.

I've one share that has more than 15000 files (2.1GB). After starting the app (iPad 3) it freeze for about two minutes. When it finally unfreeze opening any subfolder is very slow. Every thing works fine on other shares were I've less than one thousand files.
Yes, currently app has perfomance issue on folders with a large number of files. We are working on fixing it.
- Synchronize folder with all files and subfolders.
- Ability to cancel downloading.
- Summary of how many files are cached with button to delete all cached files.
You can tell BTSync to automatically sync all files in sync folder, just touch on a blue circle with white arrow near the folder at the Sync view. A folder settings menu will be appeared.
Also you can cancel download now, just swipe on downloading item and "Cancel" button will be appeared.
- Synchronize folder with all files and subfolders.

Thank you!
I can't recommend you any text editing applications, I don't use any of them.
But note in because of iOS appliucations sandbox when you open text file in any text editor app using "Open in ..." iOS makes a copy of the original file and opens the copy in text editor app. It means any changes you make in text editor app will not be apply to file that is inside BTSync.
We will include simple text editor into BTSync iOS app if there will be many requests for this.
-
Please add an option to the iOS app that allows the secret to be cut and pasted, for us iPad (original) users.
Will add this in future releases!
I deleted some files on the PC side and they are still listed on the iPhone app. all I can do it cancel with a swipe. no ability to delete the listing.
Looks like a bug. BItTorrent Sync must update list of files automatically. Could you please check that devices is connected? If yes, please send us logs from your iOS device (go to Settings->Send Feedback) and PC
I have camera backup turned on and automatically backup turned off and the initial backup went through fine, but new pictures are not being backed up and I'm not seeing any way to trigger a manual backup. Now if unclear the app from the 'running apps' and relaunch the number of pictures updates on the camera screen and says completed but nothing is actually transfer to my computer.
If you turned off automatic backup all new photos will not be synched to your computer. Now you have to turn on automatic backup to start synching new photos again.

Thank you guys!
We will add ability to open files in BitTorrent Sync from other apps in future releases. Thank you for this great idea!
Any edit on iOS?

Thank you for the feedback! We are planning to register BitTorrent Sync as handler for all extensions on iOS (it will be shown in "open in" dialog in all applications). It will be implemented soon, please follow applications updates.
