  1. I'm running the Resilio Sync linux package on Ubuntu, both patched up to date.  After I reboot the server, it takes several days for Resilio Sync to start up and for the UI to become available.  During that period, I just see a progress bar below a sync icon.  Once it finally gets running, it seems to work fine.  Any ideas for troubleshooting are appreciated.

  2. I recently created a share that is synced across two Windows computers and three Ubuntu servers.  It was syncing correctly for a week or so when all of a sudden all of the file modification dates on all of the files were updated to the current date.  Any ideas why that happened?  Is there a way to troubleshoot the cause?  Thanks in advance.

  3. After upgrading to Resilio 2.5.5 I noticed that files failed to sync and permission issues in the logs.  Specifically the logs show "file is locked by another application" and "Failed to download - initial recheck".  Back in the days when btsync ran under Admin on Synology, I had chowned all my sync folders and files to admin:users.  I see now that Resilio runs under rslsync and that rslsync is in the administrators group.  What permissions should my folders and files have for Resilio to run successfully?  Thanks in advance!

  4. I bought and applied a perpetual Sync Pro for Individuals license, but I don't see how this figures into Identities.  There's also mention of an Owner and a User, not to mention Peers and Devices.  What is an Owner?  How are User's created and managed?  What's a peer and a device?  I have to say, this is very confusing.

  5. I'm a Sync Pro user and I'm interesting in adding more people to my shares, with permissions varying from person to person.  I'm a bit confused about the difference between a license, a seat, and an identity and therefore what I have to buy for each person.  Can you please clarify?  Thanks in advance and regards, imm

  6. Using BitTorrent Sync 2.0.85 on OSX I right clicked on a subfolder of a synced folder and did "Remove from this device".  I expected the folder to remain and items in the folder to be replaced by .bts stubs.  What actually happened is the folder disappeared altogether.  Is this a bug or is this working as intended?  Thanks in advance!

  7. It's an acceptable short term workaround, but it still causes ugliness on the server side in the form of lots and lots of the following types of log entries:

[20140326 17:17:05.476] Blocked downloading file {filename removed}/com.apple.metadata:_kMDItemUserTags due Connection closed

Resolved by including in .SyncIngore on all members.  Hopefully this will get resolved in the next release.  It's desirable to be able to sync extended attributes.

  8. I concur, this is not a proper solution, so it needs to be ironed out by the BTsync devs. But for the time being, I am able to use my shares with this "quick'n dirty" solution and others might be able as well i.e. not using xattr in a mixed environment.

  9. I upgraded both my Mac (Mavericks patched up to date) and my Synology (DSM 5.0) to 1.3.67.  I'm getting the following errors in sync.log, presumably failing to sync alternative streams or extended attributes.  Any advice on how to resolve?  Thanks in advance, imm
