  1. I've been using Sync to copy Minecraft folders between computers, allowing me to play the same game across multiple machines depending on where I am at the moment. With previous versions of Sync this did not cause issues. Sync ran in the background while I was playing and never caused significant problems. Since the update to 1.4, Minecraft has been crashing on start up with an error noting that files were in use and locked. Pausing Sync allows Minecraft to load properly. Is this possibly based on improved file change detection in Sync allowing it to note change and begin syncing it sooner, thereby interrupting the game client mid-process? Is it possible for Sync to use VSS in Windows so that it can access and backup files without causing a lock? Remembering to pause Sync will be my workaround at this time. I would like to get an idea as to what specific change in the new version of Sync may be causing this issue, and would like to know the feasibility of using a better backup method to prevent this in the future.
