  1. The time stamps are correct BEFORE I drag and drop them (from root folder of same drive) into the Sync folder (of the same drive).  But, after I drop them into the Sync folder, the modification time stamp changes to a future time stamp, which is why it has an error warning.

If I drag and drop the same file into a normal Windows 10 folder, there is not modification error.  The error only occurs when dragging and dropping into a Sync folder.

I'm not sure that simply moving the file to sync directory will change its timestamp.  Unless, there's the same file with wrong timestamp on remote peers? What does Sync History say about this file?

    1.  Remote peers do not have this file.  It's a new file that I move into a Sync folder.

    2.  How do I look at the Sync History?

    Thank you!

if you go and check the file's time in its properties, what is it?

The time is in the future.  But it only changes after I move files into a Resilio synced folder?  If I move files into a normal WIndows folder, the modification time doesn't change into the future.  This happens about 90% of the time.  What's going on?

  4. Hi,  I created a READ ONLY Sync folder.  Right now, the only things inside are a subfolder and 3 files inside that subfolder.  I copied the READ ONLY Key and remoted into my work computer to have it sync.  I pasted the Key and set the sync directory.  Sync Home shows a green checkmark but it hasn't synced anything and the directory is empty?

Am I missing something?  Is it not able to sync sub-folders?

    Thank you.

  5. Hi, I'm using Resilio Sync Home 2.5.6(1043) and it's not uploading at the max speed?

I do not have any bandwidth limitations set in Settings.

I have a Google Fiber Gigabit connection to the internet.  Speedtest.net test:  994mbps up/down load

However, my upload seems to be capped at 1.6-1.7mBytes/s or 13.6mbps

Google Fiber has no data caps and they don't throttle torrents.

    Any ideas?

  6. Hi, Resilio Sync has be showing strange behavior for the past week.  I've tried closing the app and opening it again, but that did not fix it.  The upload speed drops to 0KB/s every few seconds.

There are no other apps running in the background.  This is a server dedicated for Resilio Sync functions.  The peer in the group has a 1Gbps down/upload Google Fiber connection.

What's going on and how do we fix this?  Here's a video of what I'm talking about:

    Thank you.

  7. Okay, I think I resolved this issue.  I contacted my coworker on the other end and had him check on things.  It turns out that the NAS where the Resilio sync folder is residing was down.  No error handling messages, no alerts, nothing.

He got the NAS up and running again, then nothing happened on my end.  So, I thought, maybe I'll close and reopen Resilio on my end and hope for the best.  This worked as Resilio is now syncing again.

It would be nice if we weren't left in the dark about what was going on.  If a sync folder is no longer accessible, then Resilio should relay that message back to seeder (my machine).  Wasted 6 days on this issue.

I'm posting details here so that if anyone else gets no sync activity after adding new files and no details as to what's wrong, then you can try this.

You can't change the username. For that to have to reinstall Sync completely. This does not mean that you have to transfer all data again; it just needs to be re-indexed on each peer you reinstall.

If you just want to rename the PC of a user you can most certainly go into the Resilio Sync GUI on that computer and then change the name there.

Thanks Moe!  Appreciate having someone knowledgeable about this product on the forums!  Yeah, I just need to change the username that appears in the peer group into  something more descriptive so I can track each machine.

So, honestly, I don't remember if ResilioSync offered to prompt me for a username when I first installed it (or first ran it) on each peer machine.  If it did prompt, then there is a UI failure during the setup process because the user should be alerted and told specifically that, "here is your chance to use a descriptive name for this machine, otherwise, we are going to choose a random alphanumeric name for it, capiche?!"

The client machines are Android devices.  Are you sure we won't have to download everything again, even on Android?  The size of the synced folder is 176GB.

  9. Hi, I am the administrator for my peer group.  I would like to know how to change the username or computer name of a user or peer?

I don't remember being prompted for a username when I installed Resilio Sync on each machine.  Now, all my peers have random usernames like A4736, etc.  I have no idea which peer is which machine?

I would like to change their names to something more descriptive so I can track each peer.

    Thank you!

Check the system clocks on your devices and the modification time on the files themselves. Sync has determine that these files have invalid modification times (i.e. they appear to have been modified in the future - which isn't possible).

Correcting your device's system clocks (if that's the case) should resolve the issue, otherwise, you'll need to "touch" (modify) the files in question on a device with a correct system clock so that the files then have a "valid" modification time, and can sync.

This happens quite often on my computer, about 50% of the time.  My system's clock is synced and correct.  Resilio is the only app that reports this type of error?

This happens when I move files into a synced folder.

How do we reduce the amount of occurrences of this type of error?

    Sync v:  2.5.9 (1088)

  11. I noticed that the Resilio Sync Android app requires users to do these steps in order to sync files:

    1. Open Sync app
    2. Go into the Sync folder
    3. Select all files available for sync
    4. Click on the SYNC (download) button

Is there a way to make the app automatically sync (download) all files that are available?

The Windows version of Sync doesn't require users to do all of these steps.  It automatically updates and syncs all files in the shared folder.  How do we set the Android app to do the same thing?

I noticed a button called SELECTIVE SYNC but after reading this blog about it, the answer still isn't very clear?

    https://www.resilio.com/blog/selectively-syncing-folders-and-files-with-bittorrent-sync

It would be more clear if the button was named, "SYNC ALL".  Does SELECTIVE SYNC mean the same thing as SYNC ALL or the exact opposite?

Also, my SELECTIVE SYNC button was enabled by default, so it seems like it was the opposite setting of what the blog said it should be, which was to have sync all enabled.

    SOLVED:

After running some tests, I think the SELECTIVE SYNC does mean the opposite of SYNC ALL.  By default, this was enabled on my app so it was confusing because the blog said that SYNC ALL was supposed to be the default setting.  So, if you want to sync all items in a folder, then this must be disabled.
