butako
Is it possible to proxy BTSync traffic? (e.g. in the way uTorrent supports SOCKS proxy).I am running btsync on my home linux box in mainland China. My other peers are VPS servers based around the world, outside China. Between VPS peers I get excellent bandwidth and transfers. But between home and peers I get terrible performance, absolutely awful. I believe the problem is the Great Firewall of China (NB I never have problems with regular BT traffic for downloads). The usual answer is run a VPN or SSH tunnel. I do, yes, it works, but performance of 1 VPN/SSH proxy is only a fraction as good as BitTorrent with concurrent swarm connections to multiple peers. I want to use BTSync to mimic the performance of the cloud. Thank youp.s. Fantastic product! absolutely love it. Syl
maybe the traffic isn't "encrypted" like uTorrent would do. That's how they may throttle it.
