arynhard
I would like to see a feature added that enables a user to send a command to a remote btsync client that clears all data on that device only, including the hidden Sync archive folder. This can be very useful in the case of a lost or stolen device.
benguild
I agree that this would be cool, but I also feel like it could be abused to nuke the device that hasn't been stolen. Setting PINs + passwords on both GUIs would be essential.
ChrisH
Aren't there already enough apps and services out there that allow you to wipe your device remotely? Why do you need another way to just delete BTSync data? I mean if your device gets stolen you'd want to wipe ALL data on it, not just the stuff that BTSync knows about. benguild
That's true, there might be better options available. Still, the decentralized nature of BTSync is interesting.
ChrisH
I still prefer wiping devices with a text message or push command instead of reimplementing that functionality within BTSync with all the things that can go wrong with it (security, as you mentioned; the device has to have an internet connection; BTSync has to be running; a BTSync node has to be up and reachable; what about canceling the wipe command because you find the device in your bag after all; etc. etc.)
