Call me naive but I kind of assumed if it ran on XP and ran on Win7, then Vista would be OK... installed fine but on running I just get a window with a grey background and no content. Assuming it's not just my machine that's gone loopy, are there any plans to fix that? Will have to revert to v1.3 if there's no imminent fix (or workaround?) coming Thanks. I'd like to suggest that the info on http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/download#desktop is somewhat misleading then... I hadn't realised that the Windows XP link actually takes you to a page saying that you need to run 1.3 - and there's no mention anywhere of Vista, either on the v1.4 download page, or that page about v1.3. I'll drop the Vista box back to v1.3 and see if it will talk to the 1.4 I've just installed on a Win8 box. Good to know that - according to that v1.3 page that the two versions are compatible... GreatMarko Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 I'd like to suggest that the info on http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/download#desktop is somewhat misleading then...I know - I have raised it - it's not very clear! http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/ is worse - the "Download Sync" button on that page downloads 1.4 even if you're on XP/Vista/Win2k3! I'll drop the Vista box back to v1.3 and see if it will talk to the 1.4It will.. just be aware that there's no direct "downgrade" route from 1.4 to 1.3.109 - if you've installed 1.4 and wish to revert to 1.3, you'll need to completely uninstall 1.4, remove all settings, reinstall 1.3.109 and then setup all your folders again! - not ideal! ...and all the more reason why it needs to be made clearer that 1.4 isn't fully compatible with XP/Vista/Win2k3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The warnings about going back to 1.3 are NOT strong enough. I luckily only have Win7 and 8 machines, but my Win8 machine is too small for the MASSIVE GUI that has appeared.
