frankneps
Hello all, an Excel file was not synced correctly, the message appeared that the file was corrupted and it could not be repaired by Excel. However, there is a SyncTemp file... can I restore the original content from that file??? Please tell me that this is possible! :-( Thank you in advance and best regards, Frank
GreatMarko
You may be able to rename the .SyncTemp file to .xls(x), however as the .SyncTemp name implies - it's a "temporary" file used to receive data which is then automatically renamed by Sync to remove the .SyncTemp extension. If this hasn't happened, it's likely that Sync has not fully received the file, so manually renaming to remove the .SyncTemp part will probably not work. Have a look in the folder's .sync\Archive folder - you may find a backup copy of the "corrupt" Excel file there (also have a look in the .Sync\Archive folders on the other devices you're syncing your folder with)
frankneps
Thank you GreatMarko, I tried the renaming, that did not work. In SyncArchive there is nothing, because the file was changed on 6th October, more than thirty days before... I will have to change the TTL parameter for the future. And in .sync\Archive folder there was no file either... wow, lots of work lost... I'll better try OwnCloud now
