Albert T
Is it possible to sync tag to the placeholder? It would be nice if this feature could be implemented because i use tag system to search file.
palobo
Someone will more knowledge will have to chime in, but since OS X finder tags are essentially Extended Attributes, and these are synced along with the file, I don't think this will be possible. You'll need to sync the file to get the Extended Attributes. Maybe the developers will manage to find a way around it though.

chuckl
+1 for this feature (syncing of metadata/extended attributes for both files and folders).
mblaa
+1 for this suggestion. One of the major advantages of using BTSync to access a lot of data placed elsewhere (on a NAS for instance) is that one may search the placeholder files to see if something appropriate for the search pops up. The more metadata BTSync is capable of keeping with the placeholder files, the merrier. A simple tag system would be nice, or other ways of taking advantage of the native systems indexing/search capabilities.
