kurtray
I'm new, evaluating BT. I read that there is no cloud. But I read at this page: http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/1902059-what-happens-if-a-file-is-deleted-on-one-of-the-devices- that if files are deleted they aren't gone and I can retrieve them for up to 30 days. This implies to me that there is a cloud. Where are these deleted files retrieved from if not from a server at BT? Kurt
wweich
The default setting for a shared folder is to archive changed/deleted files. And the default lifetime inside the archive is 30 days.So you can retrieve deleted file from <shared folder>/.sync/archive.Mobile devices don't have an archive, so to be able to use that feature, you need at least another Desktop/Laptop. The changes/deletions are archived by the other devices, not by the one making the changes.
GreatMarko
So, just to clarify/summarize what @wweich is saying; files are "archived" on your own devices only - they are not backed-up to, nor stored, in any BT server/infrastructure/cloud.
