Unable To Link Device - Nook Hd+ Stock Rom

Hi,

I've got a Nook HD+ that dual boots the stock rom and Cyanogenmod 10.2 (the latter running from an sdcard).  On CM10.2, the sync app runs just fine and I have no issues.

On the stock ROM, however, I launch the application and tap "Link a device already running Sync 2.0" and the button flashes dark blue (and then back to light blue), but nothing happens.

I can set it up by tapping "This is my first Sync 2.0 device", but then I can't share Sync 2.0 folders from my Linux desktop (as I can't get a read-only key to put in to treat it as a 1.4 folder, and tapping the link gets me nothing).

The version installed is the version available on the Play store today, 2.0.83.

What information would help troubleshoot this issue?  I'm really liking sync 2.0, but this is creating a bit of a headache for me.

Thanks
