Latest Update On Snow Leopard Will Not Start?

Recommended Posts

I am synching between three computers. Two run Yosemite and one is running Snow Leopard, and can not be updated due to software I that will only run as high as Snow Leopard. I updated Bittorrent Synch on the Snow Leopard machine. Now Bittorrent will not run on that machine. It looks like it is opening, but it does not launch a window, and it does not show up in Activity monitor.

What can I do?

Thanks!

My iMac appears to have a similar problem. I'm also running Snow Leopard, and after the upgrade to 2.0.105, BitTorrent Sync will no longer launch. Worked fine before with the 1.x versions.

In the 10.8 or 10.9 timeframe OS X switched from libstdc++ as the default C++ library to libc++. I guess this is also the reason that 10.8 is indicated as the minimum version on the download page (for 2.0):

https://www.getsync.com/platforms/desktop

(Darn, this 1 post per day restriction is annoying...)

tl;dr: OS X < 10.8 does not seem to be supported anymore.
