Herdo
Hello. I'm sure this has been addressed before, but my google skills are starting to wear thin while looking for an answer. I've recently started using BTSync and so far everything has been working fine. I've run into a problem that seems to affect larger files in particular. It seems these larger files are getting indexed, but not syncing. I currently have Deluge setup to download to a "temp" folder, then Deluge moves the downloaded files to my BTSync folder once the download is complete. With files around 500MB - 1.5GB, this doesn't seem to be much of an issue. However with larger files, around 12GB - 25GB+, BTSync fails to sync properly. Once the download completes, Deluge starts moving the file and BTSync starts indexing the folder (after noticing a change). Then, nothing happens. If I click on the peers, I can see the file in the queue and shows the little up arrow icon indicating it will upload the file, but that never happens. I initially thought this problem was caused by Deluge downloading directly to the BTSync folder, but even after configuring Deluge to download to a temp folder then move the file to the BTSync folder it is still happening. The odd thing about this is that the files are moved from the temp folder the the BTSync folder on the same disk, so the move is virtually instantaneous. This page seems to describe my issue, under "Showing upload/download". http://sync-help.bittorrent.com/customer/portal/articles/1592400-my-files-have-stopped-syncing Sync doesn’t receive notifications about file change. Try "touching" or updating the files. That in particular works to correct the issue. If I move the file out of the BTSync folder and then back in, it starts syncing the file. This still doesn't actually solve the problem however because the whole purpose for me using BTSync is automation and I won't always be able to do this. Adding other files to be synced doesn't solve the issue. If I add another smaller file, it get's synced leaving the larger file unsynced still. I also thought just giving it a bit to rescan the folders would force it to start but I've let it sit for over an hour without any change, and the settings indicate it should rescan the folder every 600 seconds. Any idea what's happening with these that is causing this to happen and how I can fix it? Edited December 27, 2015 by Herdo
RomanZ
@HerdoAs you say, moving in and out helps file to get synced. Could you please update file's mtime and see if it helps to resolve the issue? Actually, I was expecting for rescan to solve your issue. Ideally, I'd like to ask you to send us logs and let me know some filename that definitely exposed described behavior.
