OK. Now we can see what's the problem: the binary is incompatible with the processor. I would now suggest, that you post this problem as a new topic. Probably it's really a bug in the final mangling of the executable. Let the btsync developers decide how to solve it. Perhaps it may be a good idea, if you attach also the output of the following command:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
But it would be nice to know, if there is any meaningful return code. Can you please attach the output of the following command?/usr/lib/btsync/btsync-daemon --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/user.sierink.conf; echo "Return value: $?"
root@lisse:~# /usr/lib/btsync/btsync-daemon --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/user.sierink.conf; echo "Return value: $?"
Alignment error
Return value: 1

OK. Than we must try to see, if the btsync core gives some meaningful error messages. Try the following as user root on the command line:
/usr/lib/btsync/btsync-daemon --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/debconf-default.conf
If you do not use the default config file, please replace /etc/btsync/debconf-default.conf with the full path to the config file you have defined. But if you are using a different config file AND you have defined that the instance has to run under different user credentials, it is fundamental that you perform the test as the user under which you want the daemon to run.
Look if the btsync engine gives you any meaningful error messages and post them here.
root@lisse:~# /usr/lib/btsync/btsync-daemon --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/user.sierink.conf

initially it would not install (it is an arm processor), the first for which the install was succesful was 1.1.70. But i never managed to get it to work.

I can't get btsync to run on my sheevaplug running debian.
On my server it works fine, i have same configuration file (except name and listening ip)
I does not give an error either but the green ok does not show after entering: service btsync start.

Thank you, it installs now fine on my sheevaplug as well!

Is there a specific reason for the armel version not being in SID?
I run jessie on my squeezeplug and it gives an dependency error with the wheezy package.
When i run apt-get update, i get following error:
W: Ophalen van http://debian.yeasoft.net/btsync/dists/sid/InRelease is mislukt Unable to find expected entry 'main/ry-armel/Packages' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file)E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

yeah for 1 year, thereafter they take it away againIn some areas, Dropbox was also giving 50GB for buying a Samsung phone.

I guess you don't need WHS, just about any simple low cost Linux box will do fine

100% CPU happens when there are nodes with older versions trying to connect to your machine. This is fixed. Please wait for next build.
all my versions are 1.1.15 but i still get the 100%
-
The ciritical one is: The process does not stop using 100% CPU.
same here on linux mint debian

You will not find these settings in the Web UI. But if you are using my latest Debian Packages for Server use (btsync) and you have choosen to let debconf create a default instance, you can now set this parameter (and all other advances parameters) with
sudo dpkg-reconfigure btsyncAnd if you don't use the default instance?
Maybe it is an option to use debconf to also create an instance for a user?
-
On Windows, click the "Preferences" tab, and then the "Advanced" button
on debian it is not there?
-
What operating system are you using?
linux debian

seems to work fine on debian

I updated to 1.1.12 but cannot find the new 'folder_rescan_internal' setting.
Can i add it to btsync-user.conf file?

What happens if I set "folder_rescan_interval" to 0?
I updated to 1.1.12 but i cannot find this folder_rescan_interval setting.
Is it on the gui?

Right, thanks for that. The repository tuxpoldo set up will have to add support for 'jessie' as well, though.
When LMDE updates to jessie, btsync-wheezy will be removed, you can prevent that by switching to btsync-sid repo. That one works fine with jessie.
-
LMDE is based on debian testing and will switch soon to 'jessie'.

That's the way i did it, thanks

OK: and now we will see if btsync is running at all:
Test if btsync is running:
It is not running and this is the reason:
sierink@fileserver:~$ /usr/lib/btsync/btsync-daemon --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/user.sierink.conf
Can't open pid file /home/sierink/.btsync/sync.pid. Permission denied
I created the pid file with the correct rights and now it works!
Thanks for your patience.

You are right, there was the conf created by debconf.
I removed it with the reconfigure command.
Restarted btsync with the user.sierink.conf file as in the previous post but still no luck.
BTSync does not run on Sheevaplug

BTSync does not run on my Sheevaplug running debian wheezy. I use Tuxpoldo's package. It installs fine but won't run.
Troubleshooting gives:
According to Tuxpoldo this is due to an incompatible CPU.
Cpu info:
Any change of fixing this?
