  1. So is it impossible, or just "not supported", to run several copies of the software on one machine? What if they were running in VMs?
  2. "We're a TV station, not a data analysis service - it's not our problem if that DVD with a commercial you sent in was broken in half; we'll just emit 10 seconds of white noise and charge you the normal screen time rate, even though we could have you provide another media." It's the approach you're presenting. Sure, a sync program is a sync program, but it's not uncommon at all for programs to interface with each other for a combined purpose. 1. It's not at all likely the remote location has ransomware too if it's on a different platform or hosting service altogether. 2. Is it practi
  3. It could be handled by a plugin, called before a sync operation is commenced. Or are plugins considered feature creep as well..?
  4. So i dug deeper into the FAQ and, alas, I see that USB drive sync is out of the question. But... I wonder. Wouldn't it be possible to run two RS instances on one machine, each serving a different copy of the data set, behaving like two separate devices? They could well ignore the fact that they're on the same physical box; each would have a folder and files to take care of, each would see the other as another device to sync with...
  5. It wouldn't seem impossible for Resilio to detect if a file's "magic bytes" changed (by being encrypted)... or when many files in a folder get deleted and they're about to be erased from all the synced locations... Resilio could show a warning in such a case, perhaps, to verify if the user really had just encrypted or deleted half of their files... orrrr maybe not and it's time to mark THESE data as infected and restore them from the "cloud".
  6. I'm looking at Resilio as a solution for a peculiar problem I'm trying to solve. It boils down to two main points: 1. My data is stored on several devices AND/OR external USB drives. I need to sync not only devices, but HDDs and USB drives. Ideally, it shouldn't matter which of my devices i plug the drives into, for a proper synchronization to happen. 2. My data size is larger than any of the individual devices and drives - they need to be populated in a clever manner, to ensure that data is stored at least on 2 different devices/drives. Ideally, I'd like to be able to know whic
