Too much Network Activity

My BitTorrent Sync app use by far the most bandwidth on my machine, even though there have been no changes to my synced files in weeks. I have "Little Snitch" installed, and BitTorrent Sync is nearly always at the top of the list.

Is there a setting to prevent this? Or to make the check intervals less regular?

I've also noticed it spends a lot of time connecting to an external machine - 239.192.0.0 - Will it still work if I block this connection? Is there a setting within Bittorrent Sync to prevent external traffic? I don't even see why it is necessary.

Great idea otherwise.

Well you could use the "Limit download/upload rate" settings (on Windows, you can find these on the "Preferences" tab of BitTorrent Sync).

Other ways you can potentially reduce the amount of network traffic is by disabling tracker, relay, and DHT options (however this may affect your ability to sync to remote devices on other networks)

BitTorrent Sync monitors your files in real-time. However, in addition, it also rescans for any changes every 10 minutes. As of version 1.1.12, you can change this 10 minute rescan interval by adjusting the advanced "folder_rescan_interval" setting
