Is it safe to BitTorrent Sync after a manual copy that lincludes .SyncID, etc?

Scenario:

1. I set up BitTorrent Sync on a folder one machine A

2. I manually copy this folder to machine B

3. I install BitTorrent Sync on machine B and sync the same folder

Note that the manual copy (rsync, cp on a network share, etc) would include the .SyncID from machine A on machine B.

Is this safe?

No, you should remove the .SyncId from the machine you've copied the across too, and then add that new folder to BitTorrent Sync on that machine, which will generate a new .SyncID for that folder

I did exactly this (robocopy the whole folder, then install BTSync) on several machines without any problems. But that was before I even knew about .SyncID files - now I would delete it too.
