Iphone Photos And Videos Sync'd - "conflict" In Filename And Size "zero Bytes"?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I couldn't find posts relating to my issue so here goes:

I've just recently sync'd my photos and videos from iPhone Camera Roll to a Synology NAS (214play). All the photos seem to be backed up but there are quite a number of files with size "zero bytes" and the word "Conflict" appended to the filename.

Can anyone explain what the "Conflict" means when I don't have any duplicate file names in the sync'd files? Also, why does it create a lot of "zero byte" sized files? I did notice a small number of videos that didn't playback on the iPhone for some reason but I could see the image of the thumbnail - there was a corresponding video file that was sync'd with "zero bytes", so that might explain some of the video files sync'd with "zero bytes" size but there's no photos on the iPhone that would correspond to the number of sync'd files with "zero bytes" size or "Conflict" in the filename.

Appreciate anyone who can shed light on this peculiarity before I delete all the sync'd files with "zero bytes". it's got me stumped.

Thanks in advance!

pching,

Initially conflicts appear when two different files are trying to get synced into one. For example, if there are two files with different letter case or, as in iOS device case, for example, when over too many photos have been shot with the device. iOS rounds up their names, if I'm not mistaken 10k files is the threshold.

For Sync they look like two different files, and they get backed up into one directory on desktop, creating the conflicts.

Known issue, developers are looking into solution.

As for zero bytes - are these Conflicts actually the ones zero sized?
