BobAchgill
1) Does every peer that is behind a router have to send their data through the relay server if they are not manually port forwarded? Or is BTSync smart enough with some routers to automatically port forward such that that peer can send data direct to another peer with out the data having to go through the relay server? 2) Does data having to go through the relay server slow the transfer? All these questions consider that the peers are not on the same LAN.
Helen
BobAchgill, 1) not necessarily. Usually UPnP does automatic port forwarding, unless disabled/disallowed. Sync utilizes UPnP. 2) Usually yes, relayed transfers are slower than direct ones
