Frank595
I'm experiencing some problems with Sync after trying to move an encrypted folder from one location to another. I read in some other threads that I should just remove the folder from Sync, move the folder to the new location and then re-add the folder to Sync with the encrypted key. I did this and expected that Sync will just index the (encrypted) folder once and then recognize that all the files are still there. However, after 3 hours I can definitely confirm that Sync is re-syncing all the files and just overwriting all the files that I just copied. The folder contains about 100 GB of data, so this takes quite long unfortunately. What is causing this problem and how could I solve this? Gane O'dwyer
@Frank595 If you pick a directory with files previously encrypted with the same F-key, these files will still be re-synced and moved to Archive. This will lead to extra space taken on the device.
Frank595
Is there no way to get around the resyncing for encrypted folders? Shouldn't the new filecopies be completely identical since there being encrypted on the other (unencrypted) clients anyway?
Gane O'dwyer
@Frank595 No. Quote Is there no way to get around the resyncing for encrypted folders? This is how? I do not understand what do you mean. Quote Shouldn't the new filecopies be completely identical since there being encrypted on the other (unencrypted) clients anyway?
