  1. Please run the following command

    /usr/bin/btsync --nodaemon --config /etc/btsync/config.json

and look for an error like this one

**** ERROR ******** Unable to listen for HTTP traffic on port 80. Exiting...

You can see an overview using netstat to see to what ports your system is listening to using

    sudo netstat -npl

I can confirm that using port 80, in your case, does not work.

This seems to be not a bug with the script, since the script starts BitTorrent Sync just fine, but something related to BitTorrent Sync itself (?!)

Because I can happily set the port to, for example, 8889 and it works like it should.

Also I don't know why you had to edit the init.d file? The deamon should work out of the box using the script.

  2. Please before you start a thread on the forums, try the search function as this question has been answered before.

Also try to use the Help Center at http://help.getsync.com

See this article for relay server: http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/1984019

    For the tracker see: http://help.getsync.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1902087-what-data-is-collected-seen-by-bittorrent-inc-when-i-use-sync-

  3. I would not recommend having nested shares. That can definitely break stuff.

What I would say you do on your NAS is:

1.) Unlink folder in WebGUI of your NAS

2.) Move folder on your NAS

3.) Add the exact same folder again using the share function on one of your clients who has access to that share. Preferably Owner or RW access.

Sync will probably re-index the Folder but it won't re-sync all data.

  4. Take a look at this please TCP vs. UDP if you see slow speeds that gradually build up over time and then drop back to 0 - that is kind of how it works. Remember back in the 90' when a download of a file was slow at the start and then fast at the end - that could be that.

Also if your peers are so far away from each other there are other things that can interfere with it - things like peering for example.

If your ping is 260-300ms it could be that packets are being dropped on the way and you have to re-send that piece of the file again.

Resulting in overall slower transfer speeds.

For improving speed there is this help article: http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/1902072

It also makes a difference what folder type you have - advanced or standard folders. See this article http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/1904611

  5. If you root your device you can gain read/write access to your sd card buy installing and running this app.

That brings huge security issues with it. Before ANYONE is doing that, educate yourself on the internet what that actually means! It is easy to just click yes yes yes continues agree install on an app but actually knowing what that means is something else.

    Same goes for iOS jailbreaks.
