I assume you're talking about Camera backup on the iOS - is it here where you see "Connecting"? If yes, make sure that the share on the desktop where the photos are backed up, has option "Overwrite any changed files" enabled.

I don't know that this applies to the ticket that I opened, so I am going to post it here:

"Overwrite any changed files" does not work as a solution for me. Once these are backed up, I move and sort the images. However, with "Overwrite any changed files" enabled, now on every sync, these files are backed up again, so that now I have tons of duplicate files - the ones in the backup and the ones that have been moved.

I used the backup feature for 2 months without "Overwrite any changed files" enabled and it worked exactly how I need it to, there has to be another way to make this work.

  2. It's worse than I thought. All of my .sync folders are gone - that means all of my IgnoreList changes are gone. Not only will that take me a lot of time to fix, I don't even know what all of those were and some were very painstaking to figure out.

    This is a nightmare.

    Sorry, yes, that is correct.

    You're a genius!

Thanks. Now I am curious about what changed those files - this process is the only thing that uses that folder, except for backups (CrashPlan, Todo).

Sync takes its identity name after the username currently logged in on the machine.

But there is no user on any of my machines named "KDAVISOFFSITE". In fact, the username on all of these machines keithdavis. Now, these are running as a Windows Service, so the user name is actually:

    • KDAVISOFFSITE\keithdavis
    • KDAVISHOME\keithdavis
    • KDAVIS\keithdavis

So maybe it picked the machine name instead of the username, but why KDAVISOFFSITE, it was not the first one?

  5. I don't know what you mean by "identity name". What is that and how did that name get assigned? KDAVISOFFSITE is the name of one of my machines. That name and the 2 linked machines shown when I click on it are on all 3 folders,  they all look exactly the same. But only 1 of those 3 folders are actually synced to KDAVISOFFSITE.

This is so confusing.  Thanks for the help.

KDAVISOFFSITE - is it machine name or identity name?

Well, it is the machine name, but it's also the name I assigned to the device on installation (to keep it simple, I named all of my peers the same name as their machine).

but if you click on it, it'll be expanded and you'll see the two

Yes, I saw that, but it still doesn't make sense to me. In this screenshot, KDAVISOFFSITE is listed under the activity, but I am not syncing Intranet_Local with KDAVISOFFSITE.

  7. So my Peers Online says 2 of 2 for all of my folders, and if I click on it, the only machine displayed (Synced with) is KDAVISOFFSITE, not matter which machine I am looking at. 2 of these folders should say 3 of 3, one folder should say 4 of 4. KDAVISOFFSITE is not even syncing those 2 (3 of 3) folders.

Am I reading this wrong is the UI broken? Syncing appears to be working correctly, it's just the UI I have a problem with.
