InstagateurX
A project called MessageNet is being developed that will rely in part on BTsync for decentralized P2P communications. It is part of a larger project to develop a new system for cryptocurrency described at:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=471442.0 The project website is hosted on BTSync. A brief description from the "website:" It is designed to be a P2P communication layer completely orthogonal to the operation of any program that communicates with the network. Both incoming messages and outgoing messages are published to a folder that is synced with the network. This makes programming any client for communication trivial, as all that needs to be done is to read and write files to a fixed location.A few highlights of where MessageNet can go: 1. Open P2P communication 2. Platform for decentralized money 3. Decentralized web - serverless websites can exist within MessageNet 4. Distributed computing To follow the project, subscribe to the read-only key:BYI644AFJRRBB22BRI3XQSKXX6FTDXOCF The directory will be kept small, with only small and simple HTML files hosted. Once subscribed, click on MessageNet.html in the synced directory on your computer for more information and other details.
GreatMarko
Seems a little redundant to use BitTorrent Sync for P2P messaging when that's specifically what BitTorrent Chat is designed to do!
dms2013
Didn't hear anything about BT Chat since it was announced, apart from the email around New Years, that didn't contain any new news about the project.I had a look at this project, and it's just some documentation about BitCoin and some other stuff. It is similar to my project MassageNet A way for people to get massage, completely anonymous and encrypted. Just add my secret: <paste secret here> And read some files containing the information that's in this post. Nah.My back hurts, I think I really need a massage now. Later. InstagateurX
I wasn't aware of Bittorrent chat, thanks. It's more of about the message protocol than the transport. Seems like chat would be easy though: everyone has a BTSync "transmitter" folder their friends subscribe to and a chat client just watches for their encrypted messages. Anonymous massage, thats a good idea.
Firon
BT Chat's definitely still being worked on.
